Mackie Designs Inc. Announces Third Quarter Results

October 26, 1999 – Woodinville, Wash. – Mackie Designs Inc. (Nasdaq: MKIE) today announced revenues and earnings for the quarter ended September 30, 1999. Revenues for the third quarter were $39.6 million, compared with $30.5 million for the corresponding quarter in 1998. Net income for the quarter was $1.7 million, or $0.14 per share, compared with net income of $1.8 million, or $0.14 per share, in the third quarter of 1998.

"We set a revenue record for the second consecutive quarter", stated Jamie Engen, Chief Operating Officer. "We also established manufacturing records at our Woodinville, Washington and our Reggio Emilia, Italy plants in the month of September. The quarter included sales in the U.S. market of the Company's new family of live sound "CFX" mixers and a new passive loud speaker, the C300, designed to be packaged with our family of powered mixers."

Company Chairman, Greg Mackie, commented, "I am pleased with the improvement in results that we accomplished in the quarter, when compared with the previous quarter, but I am by no means satisfied. Our continued emphasis at Mackie is the achievement of increased levels of profitability through top line growth and strict cost control. We are focused on adding shareholder value."
