Mackie Announces the Promotion of Wayne Newitt to Application Support Group Specialist

March 6, 2001 – Orlando, FL, NSCA Expo – Mackie Designs Inc. (Nasdaq: MKIE), today announced the appointment of Mr. Wayne Newitt to the position of Application Support Group Specialist. In this new position, Wayne will be in charge of providing contractors and consultants with application configuration and design support for all Mackie Industrial product lines. This includes the Vision series loudspeakers, ART Series loudspeakers, 4000 Series Mixer/Amplifier and Amplifiers, Sound Palette® Series, and the DX8, a DSP-based Digital audio mixer for the contractor market.

Wayne has extensive sound contracting experience and was the president of Audio Communication Services, Inc., a commercial and residential sound contracting firm in Oregon from 1991 to 1996. Prior to relocating to Oregon in 1990, Wayne worked in sound and communications contracting, live sound engineering, and recording production and engineering. He also spent several years as a working musician in the Southern California area. Wayne joined Mackie Designs in 1996, starting in the Technical Support Department before joining Mackie Industrial in 1999 as Product Specialist.
