LOUD Brands Show New Products at InfoComm

June, 2004 - Atlanta, Georgia -InfoComm - The LOUD Technologies family of professional audio brands; Mackie, EAW, and EAW Commercial, will use this year's InfoComm exhibition to showcase several recently announced new products for the commercial audio market.

EAW's AX SERIES CREATES A NEW DIMENSION IN ARRAYABLE LOUDSPEAKERS
From EAW, the new AX Series loudspeakers are engineered to array seamlessly, with a tri-axial design that incorporates a revolutionary new coaxial MF/HF driver. AX's innovative coaxial MF/HF driver combines an 8-inch cone and a 1.4-inch exit compression driver into sealed aluminum chassis that acts as the heat sink for the entire assembly. Both drivers share a single neodymium magnet, reducing both weight and cost. A pair of 12-inch woofers are located on opposite ends of the enclosure, creating an acoustic origin on axis with the coaxial MF/HF driver.

This innovative MF/HF driver assembly is coupled to a single horn, which occupies almost the entire front of the AX Series' enclosure. To solve the complex acoustic problems that generally prevent the coupling of a coaxial driver directly to a horn, the EAW engineering team developed Concentric Summation Array(TM) (CSA) technology, an advanced design based on their patented Radial Phase Plug(TM). The net result is an astonishingly smooth frequency response, consistent polar patterns over a wide operating bandwidth and exceptional vocal clarity.

To facilitate construction of horizontal and vertical arrays, EAW engineers designed the AX enclosure with trapezoidal angles on all four sides. Furthermore, the MF/HF horn can be rotated, allowing the pattern to remain fixed regardless of cabinet orientation. Three AX Series models offer dispersion patterns ranging from 45° x 45° to 90° x 60°. 3/8-inch threaded mounting and pullback points facilitate installation. AX Series speakers can be powered in either full-range passive or bi-amp modes.

The EAW AX Series speakers will be on display at the InfoComm tradeshow in booth #3025. For specific details visit www.eaw.com .

MACKIE'S TT24 - THE FIRST DIGITAL LIVE MIXER DESIGNED BY ANALOG MIXER FANATICS
InfoComm presents a great opportunity to get a close look at Mackie's new TT24 Digital Live Console and the new Onyx family of premium analog mixers.

The TT24 is a 24-mic input digital mixer developed specifically for live sound applications in clubs, theaters, houses of worship, or with rental companies, sound production companies, regional touring acts as well as weekend warriors. And unlike other digital live consoles that are based on desks developed originally for recording applications, the TT24 was built from the ground up for use in live applications.

Architecturally, the TT24 is a 56 x 45, 24-bit, 96kHz capable digital live console with 100mm touch-sensitive faders, on-board analog and digital I/O, full channel metering, digital recall, EQ, dynamics, and effects. The rear panel provides all of the necessary I/O connections to take full advantage of the board's functionality right out of the box. On board the TT24 are: 24 mic/line inputs with 4-band EQ/comp/gate, eight line inputs with 4-band parametric EQ, Left-Right-C/Mono outs with 4-band parametric EQ and comp/limiter, 12 aux sends with 4-band parametric EQ & comp/limiter, eight groups with 10 assignable 4-band parametric EQ & comp/limiters, eight matrix outputs with 600ms of total delay.

The TT24 development team drew extensively on Mackie's history as a provider of high-value small-format analog live consoles, as well as the company's extensive experience in digital audio technology, to equip the TT24 with an enhanced set of live sound tools that simply aren't available in the analog world. This includes the incorporation of a true Aux Mode, which instantly converts the console from FOH mode to monitor mode; eight flex groups, which are each individually configurable for mono, stereo, LCR, or VCA operation, as well as a feature called Matrix Plus, a large 11x8 matrix that allows digital patching of any desired signal into the matrix.

Every Mackie TT24 Digital Live Console ships with a copy of the TT Control Software, a PC-based GUI that connects to the console via USB. The TT Control Software allows for a much larger view of console parameters. It also aids in the file saving process.

The Mackie TT24 will be on display at the InfoComm tradeshow in booth #3027. For specific details visit www.mackie.com .
